Able to arouse the most enthusiastic adhesions and the most malevolent criticisms, he was the subject in his time of inferences, slander, gossip and, even today, his sense of freedom and the uncomfortable novelties of his thought provoke conflicting reactions.

Here we retrace the stages of her life: from the years of formation, marked by the difficulty of being one of the first female doctors in Italy, to the painful experience of hidden motherhood; from feminist struggles, which found in her a new sense of social justice and a new awareness of the role of women, to the commitment in favor of disadvantaged children to her innovative pedagogical project, based on the enhancement of the resources and freedom of the child.
